Our Ministry Team
St. Martin's is so lucky to have such a wonderful Ministry Team. Rev. M.E. Eccles takes care of our spiritual needs in a caring way. Kathy Isaacks keeps the office running smoothly, and our sextons take great care of our building and grounds.
The Very Rev. M.E. Eccles
A priest since 2007, Rev. M.E. started at St. Martin’s on All Saints’ Day 2013. He's also served the larger church as a member of the Standing Committee of the Diocese of Chicago, warden of the Diocesan Council, and a volunteer and Deputy at several General Conventions of the National Episcopal Church. M.E’s primary interests are the full inclusion of diverse populations in the church and beyond, animal welfare and environmental conservation. An intersection of his passion for pastoral care and the church is helping the disenfranchised find their place in church, be that at an individual or national level. M.E. is trans male and married to Kathleen Erin Eccles; they are the loving animal parents of two wonderful dogs.
Communication and Operations Manager
Kathleen (Kathy) Isaacks, has several years of experience serving the church in many ways. Her first position after moving to Illinois in 2006 was where she learned the "mechanics" of the Episcopal church. In 2014 she became the Communications & Operations Manager at St. Martin's.
Kathy is currently an active member of Trinity UMC in Mt. Prospect and lives in Des Plaines with her husband, Hank, their cat Sammie, and a lovable dog, Zena. They have two grown children - a daughter, son-in-law & grandchild in Seattle, WA (and a huge dog who owns them); and a son in Phoenix, AZ.
An avid reader and avid quilter, she is involved in her local quilt guild and a couple of small local quilt groups as well.
