HEALING MINISTRY

“Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord”  James 5:14

Healing comes in many forms. When we have failed, are hurting, are struggling or in pain, the healing that reaches deepest into our soul comes from being with other people  and sharing in that struggle.

The Healing Ministry team brings “a part of St. Martin’s” to those who cannot attend our worship services due to illness, family crisis, rehabilitation or other individual situations. We can bring church news, scripture readings, communion, healing prayers or just a pair of sympathetic ears to them. We also offer healing prayers in the church on the last Sunday of the month at both services, and a prayer circle and healing prayers during the community meals.

Des Plaines Chronic Pain Support Group

Do you suffer from Chronic Pain? Do you wish you could talk to others who understand? St. Martin's hosts this group for pain patients that is led by pain patients. This is a safe environment where everything from the group is kept confidential. Membership to St. Martin's is not required, but members may decide to have themselves added to the prayer requests or request healing prayers at any time. The group meets on the second Sunday of every month at 1 p.m. at St. Martin's in Strauss-Betker Hall.  The group is accessible through meetup.com, our facebook page, or you may contact Amanda Vandervort (amandavandervort@yahoo.com for more information or to RSVP.  Please do not wear heavy scents to the meetings in consideration to those with high sensitivities.
